I have been a Chicago Public Schools teacher for 17 years, and a teacher-librarian for 12 of those years.  I am both a natural teacher from a family of teachers and a professionally trained teacher who continues to develop her craft through two Masters Degrees and beyond.  I am first and foremost a proud parent—and then I am a teacher.  My passion for parenting informs how I treat my students because I know that each student is someone’s precious child.

From the minute I walk through the doors in the morning, I never know what my day will be like…and that’s what keeps it interesting to me.  I might be reading to second graders using my goofy voices, I might be helping a student do research on a project about Arctic animals, I might be planning curriculum activities with a colleague, I might be singing.  So, come see me in our Library and be prepared to get to it!  I will be there in the middle of all the noise and exploring and doing….and yes, reading!
