I’ve always known that I wanted to be a teacher; whether it was pretending my family members were students at the dinner table or teaching all my dolls their ABCs, my path was clear from the start. I furthered my passion for teaching by pursuing my Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education, which I received from DePaul University.
This is my second year at Newberry Academy and I continue to be honored to be working at such an amazing school. I believe that every student has the ability to learn in a positive classroom. The power of a good attitude and enthusiasm about learning can do great things in the eyes of a child.
My favorite author is J.R. Rowling. I often talk to my students about my love for the Harry Potter books! I enjoy running 5K races around the city and often see my former students running in the races.
