Friends of Newberry / PTO

 

Friends of Newberry is a not-for-profit organization affiliated with Newberry Math and Science Academy. It is the umbrella organization that encompasses all fundraising committees of the school and the Newberry Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). It has a 501 (c) (3) status, so donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.

Additional purposes of Friends are:

  • to foster and promote quality education at Newberry Academy;
  • to seek involvement from the broader community;
  • to expand the resources available to Newberry Academy.

General membership of Friends includes parents, faculty, staff, and community members of Newberry Academy that support expanding resources available to our school.

2013 Event Highlights

Newberry Pizza Night (January)

  • This first ever event was sponsored by our local Homemade Pizza Company and generated close to $400 towards future events for our children.

Winter Dance (February)

  • Fun was had by our middle school students.  Plenty of food, fun and dancing.  Special thanks to Annette Boozcko for coordinating.

SpiritWear

Spiritwear is the “official” clothing line of Newberry School and includes T-shirts, hats, shorts, pants, sweatshirts and limited-edition items that promote Newberry School spirit. SpiritWear items are available in child and adult sizes and may be worn for gym class. You can place orders using the online order form below. Certain items are also sold at school events such as Report Card pick-up days.

Shop and Support

The Scrip Program
The Scrip Program at Newberry is an easy way to help the school out financially. Newberry earns about $1300 per year through the scrip program! Scrip are gift cards, for your own use, that are used just like cash. Families generate revenue for the school through everyday purchases. Groceries, clothing, gasoline, gifts can all be purchased with scrip. Scrip order forms are sent home in backpacks once a month.
